Transport Minister Ben Martins and MEC Marawu to launch transport infrastructure and road safety projects in Mthatha

As part of the October Transport Month Campaign, Transport Minister Ben Martins and Eastern Cape MEC for Transport Thandiswa Marawu will officially launch transport infrastructure and road safety projects in Mthatha tomorrow (4 October) at 10h00.

Their programme features a site visit to the Mthatha Airport, which is currently under upgrade, at 08h30 followed by another site visit at the Mthatha Bridge. These projects form part of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality Presidential Intervention Projects.

They will also cut the ribbon at the Mthatha (Jubilee Square) Taxi Rank to mark its official opening and launch of the “Driver for Walker” and“Walker for Driver” Campaign with a walkabout at Madeira Street.

The main programme of the day will take place St Johns College with the Certification for the Standardized Learner Driver Training Project and Launch of Road Safety Peer Educators Project.
