What: TB/HIV Discussion Workshop

Why:
The Free State Province has made significant progress in the integration of TB and HIV services since the pilot project done by the National Department of Health in 2003. Political commitment has also heightened and it is evident in the additional resources and funding that have been committed to the program at provincial level.
Who and how:
The Free State Department of Health, in collaboration with the University Research Company (URC) are coming together as key stakeholders to discuss:
- strategies for improving the ART uptake for co infected TB patients
- strategies for improving enrolment of HIV infected individual on Isoniazid Preventive Treatment (IPT)
- strategies to strengthen the referral system within the department.
The media is invited to be present during these discussions. You will also be offered an opportunity to have interviews with identified representatives.
