The South African National Defence Force will once again proudly form part of the National Heritage Day celebrations on Thursday, 24 September 2009. More than 180 members from different services and divisions will participate in this parade.
The Chief Functionary for this parade will be His Excellency, Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe.
The colourful military ceremony will include a national salute comprising of a guard of honour from the national ceremonial guard, national anthem performed by the South African Army band Polokwane, 21 Rounds Gun Salute by 4 Artillery Regiment and a salute flight.
This is followed by a fly past by two hawk lead in fighter trainer aircraft from the South African Air Force (SAAF). The parade will be concluded by a final national salute.
