Spotlight on Public Protector

The Office of the Public Protector will tomorrow appear before Parliament's Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) to answer questions as to why it received a qualified audit opinion, for the 2008/09 and an unqualified audit opinion for the 2007/08 and 2006/7 financial years.
 
This is the first time the Office of the Public Protector will be appearing before this committee.

Also tomorrow, the Portfolio Committee on Mining will get a briefing from the Department of Mineral Resources on the establishment of a State-Owned Mining Company. The Committee will also be briefed by Alexkor (Mining Company) on its operations.
