Sports Science Coaching seminar

The Gauteng Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation invites you to the two-day Advance Sports Science Coaching Seminar.

The seminar marks a turning point for sports development in the Gauteng province.

In partnership with the University of Pretoria, the seminar is aimed at sharing experiences with entry level coaches on the most advanced sport science methods that are being utilised by coaches locally and internationally to enhance athletic performances.

About 150 delegates including coaches from various federations are expected to attend.

Speakers include Professor Wim Hollander from the University of Johannesburg, former National Athlete Geraldine Pillay, National wheelchair tennis player Patrick Selepe and Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane who will deliver a presentation on the real life coaching experience.

“Through our interactions with sports federations we identified a need to develop entry level coaches by regularly coordinating these seminars to equip them with knowledge and to afford them a platform to network and share experience with top South African coaches. As a result we have entered into partnership with the five tertiary institutions within the province to conduct these seminars, “said MEC Maile.
