The media is invited to the send off function of the South African Indigenous Games team that will represent the Country at the TAFISA World Sport for all Games in Siauliai, Lithuania (Russia). The send off will be held on 3 July 2012 at 10h00 at Willow Park (31 R First Road, Bredell, Kempton Park).
The team which comprise of 48 participants from three provinces, KZN, Limpopo and Mpumalanga will be representing South Africa in six Indigenous Games codes namely; Intonga, Kgati, Morabaraba, Jukskei, Diketo and Ncuva at the 5th TAFISA World Sport for all Games in Siauliai, Lithuania. The team will be displaying these various Indigenous Games from South Africa as a showcase of the South African Heritage and Culture to the world.
The selection of the South African team was based on performance during the 2012 Indigenous Games Festival held in Pretoria in March.
The Games opening ceremony will be on 6 July and the closing ceremony will be on 10 July. The travelling details of the South African team, which is currently camping at Willow Park in Kempton Park, are as follows:
