Southern African Development Community (SADC) Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Training, Pretoria, South Africa

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of South Africa, is coordinating the running of Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Training which will commence with a first session from 1st to 5th October 2012. This session will be held in Pretoria, South Africa.

The entire course will be delivered by Manchester Business School from the United Kingdom in partnership with the University of Zimbabwe and facilitated by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

The course covers science, technology and innovation policy.It introduces analytical and policy concepts, and seeks to develop an understanding of ways to design, implement and assess policies and contextualises policy making of the SADC countries.The programme will run until May 2013.

The programme is sponsored by DST, the Australian Government (AusAID) and UNESCO.
