South Africa - Zimbabwe bilateral meeting on immigration issues

Pretoria: South African Home Affairs Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will today, Thursday 17 June 2010 hold a bilateral meeting with Zimbabwean Home Affairs Minister for discussions on immigration issues at the Castello De Monte Guesthouse, 402 Aries Street, Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria.

The two Ministers are expected to discuss among others the recent decision by South Africa not to allow foreign visitors particularly from some Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries to use one-page travel documents in entering South Africa but to use valid and proper travel documents with effect from 1 June 2010.

In addition, the two Ministers are also expected to discuss the possibility of the issuance of birth certificates to Zimbabwean children born within the borders of the Republic of South Africa.
