South Africa to host International Human Rights Day

South Africa will be hosting the International Human Rights Day celebration, the first time the event will be hosted outside Europe. The United Nations High Commissioner (UNHC) Navanethem Pillay, herself a South African citizen, requested that this day be celebrated in her home country, a nation with renowned human rights achievements.

Under the theme, "Embrace diversity, End discrimination," Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Jeff Radebe will deliver key message on government's efforts in a society based on democratic values, social justice and fundamental human rights.
