Health Minister Dr Aaron and his Swaziland counterpart Honourable B Xaba will sign a cooperation agreement between the two countries as part of efforts to improve healthcare services in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
The agreement entails technical, professional education and training of health professionals, sharing of experience in research and development, twinning of public hospitals between the two countries and special medical care and health services including patient referrals.
This agreement supports the activities and obligations under the protocol on health in the SADC region. The protocol entails among others, poaching of health workforce from countries in the region and inter-country initiatives to combat diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis (TB).
