Sixth International Business Linkage Forum (IBLF)

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) is hosting the sixth International Business Linkage Forum (IBLF), from 18 to 19 June 2009, at the Sandton Sun Hotel, in Johannesburg. The Department of Trade and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding with the IBLF to host the sixth convention of the forum in South Africa.

Previous forum were held in China, India and United Arab Emirates, with over 80 global business leaders having attended the last IBLF session in Switzerland.
The IBLF is a platform for government and business to deliberate and discuss international business opportunities. The forum's longevity lies in the strengths of the participants, whose knowledge of investment markets and networking expertise and resources, ensure the continuation of a successful business partnership.

The IBLF includes business leaders from different parts of the world, namely Australia, Austria, Belarus, Benin, Brazil, Canada, China, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Kenya, Nepal, Russia, Samoa, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Togo, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), United Kingdom (UK), Ukraine and United States of America (USA).

The IBLF provides a platform to encourage the purchase and sale of goods, investment, identification of joint venture partners and the sharing of sectoral trade advice between member nations.
The following emerging sectors will form the focus of the sixth IBLF:
* resources
* hospitality and tourism
* energy.
