Site visits to assess flood affected areas in the North West

A delegation of officials from the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) which is managed by the national Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and the Provincial Disaster Management Task Team will on 8 to 9 February 2011 visit areas that have been affected by the recent floods in the North West province. During the visit, the delegation will also assess the extent of the damages in order to determine the project scope for engineers who will carry a more technical assessment as soon as the floods have subsided.

The visits will take place as follows:
Day one: 8 February 2011
Venue: Madibeng Fire Station
Time: 09h00

Areas to be visited: Sonop Bridge & Mooinooi (Mamba)

Day two: 9 February 2011
Venue: Taung Tusk
Time: 09h00

Areas to be visited: Madipelesa, Choseng and Bloemhof Dam
