The Department of Water Affairs will be co-hosting the second Africa Water Week at the Gallagher Estate Conference Centre in Midrand from 9 to 13 November 2009.
Over a thousand delegates from Africa and the rest of the world will be attending the conference in addition to government ministers responsible for water, from more than forty countries on the continent.
The event, hosted by the department and the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) will take place under the theme: "Carrying forward the commitments of Sharm El-Sheikh on Water and Sanitation: a Sprint to the Finish".
One of the main objectives of the second African Water Week is to create a forum for the African water sector to discuss ways of achieving security of supply, socio-economic development through water and formulating concrete policies and strategies for the sector.
