Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Lebogang Maile accompanied by local leadership, will on Friday 18 March, visit Sebokeng and its surrounding areas to mobilise support for the Magnificent Friday campaign.
Sebokeng becomes the MEC’s second stop since the launch of the provincial Magnificent Fridays on 18 February. Proceedings will start with mobilisation roadshows through an open bus at Mandela Square in Sebokeng to Evaton Plaza and Zone 7 shopping Centre (next to ghetto) from 11h00, culminating in the main event at the Thabong Mall at 14h00.
Attendees will be treated to performances by top artists including Chomee and Dj Miza, as well as other local artists.
This campaign is aimed at mobilising communities to rally behind our national teams participating in world cup events and championships during the year. Currently the Proteas are battling it out and are on their way to the quarterfinals at the Cricket World Cup in India. Communities are encouraged to wear their green and gold colours on Fridays and keep flying the South African flag high.
