Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and Gauteng MECs will visit schools in the province on 13 January to witness the official opening of schools and encourage learners and teachers as the school year officially begins. The provincial leadership will also meet with School Governing Bodies (SGB) at respective schools.
The programme for the day will end with education izimbizo in various localities where communities will engage the Gauteng Provincial Government on the challenges facing schools in their area.
Accompanied by Education MEC Barbara Creecy, Premier Mokonyane will visit schools in Soweto and they will be spending the day as follows:
