The Electoral Commission (IEC) will be hosting a number of electoral events for various stakeholder groupings in the run up to election day.
You are invited to attend these events/briefings which including the following:
1. Briefing of domestic observers;
2. Breakfast for representatives of the business sector
3. Briefing for trade union leaders.
1. The briefing of domestic observers will take place at Election House in Centurion on 5 May 2011 at 09h00. A total of 31 organisations have been accredited for the 2011 municipal elections and will be represented at the briefing. Commissioners and senior IEC managers will address issues related to the forthcoming elections, the conduct of observers and that of political parties.

2. The business breakfast will be hosted at the Sunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg on 6 May 2011 at 08h30. The Chief Electoral Officer, Adv Pansy Tlakula, will brief the organised business sector on the preparations for the 2011 municipal elections and also discuss the role that the business sector can play in supporting electoral processes.

The Chairperson, Dr Brigalia Bam and the Chief Electoral Officer, Adv Pansy Tlakula, will brief trade union leaders or their representatives on the preparations for the 2011 municipal elections and will also discuss the role that trade unions can play in supporting electoral processes.
