Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale will table the sanitation report to the Human Settlements Portfolio Committee tomorrow, Friday the 14th of September 2012.
The much-anticipated report is a result of the work done by the Ministerial Sanitation Task Team set up in September 2011, as a response to the many unfinished and unenclosed toilets around the country. Seeing the prevalence of these toilets, Minister Sexwale set up the task team to investigate these as well as look at all other sanitation-related matters.
The Task Team was initially given three months to investigate and report back to the Minister, however, an extension was given for more in-depth investigation which resulted in a number of consultative forums with various stakeholders.
