Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will on Friday, 19 November 2010, chair a meeting of the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) to be held at the Victor Ndlazulwane Community Hall, Daveyton.
The SANAC meeting will evaluate progress achieved with regards to our country's response to HIV and AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) through the implementation of the National Strategic Plan for HIV and AIDS.
Furthermore, SANAC will discuss the HIV Counseling and Testing Campaign as well as plans for the commemoration of the 2010 World AIDS Day.
The plenary meeting will culminate into an interaction between SANAC members and a group of about 100 men in recognition of the International Men's Day which is celebrated annually on the 19th of November. This interaction will focus on various issues relating to HIV and AIDS, and a positive role man can play in curbing violence against women and children.
