South Africa’s research and supply polar vessel, the SA Agulhas, will arrive back in Cape Town tomorrow, Thursday 24 March 2011 from a 14 day construction/VIP voyage to and from Marion Island.
The Deputy Minister of Public Works, Ms Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, led a delegation of officials from the Departments of Environmental Affairs and Public Works, and scientists that left Cape Town on Thursday, 10 March 2011 for the official opening of South Africa’s new research base on Marion Island.
An official welcome for the delegation will be held at the Department of Environmental Affairs premises (East Pier V&A Waterfront).
