Road Rangers empowerment sessions

In an effort to develop and empower road rangers, the department's Community Based Transportation Innovation and Empowerment sub programme will embark on a number of Road Ranger Empowerment sessions throughout the province.

The main purpose is to:

  • Ensure that Road Rangers are empowered and look into their well-being and the communities where they are being deployed.
  • Strengthen working relations between the department and the communities where Road Rangers are deployed with the hope that this will eliminate challenges facing Road Rangers on the ground.

A variety of stakeholders that will be empowering the Road Rangers, among others, include:

  • Councillors
  • Traditional leaders
  • Road Rangers themselves
  • Traffic Officers
  • Departments of Agriculture, Health, SAPS, RAF, Labour and institutions like SPCA
