The people of Gauteng are hereby advised that there will be road closures on the 25th of February 2013 when the State of the Province Address (SoPA) takes place during the Official Opening of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
Date: 25th February 2013
Venue: Gauteng Legislature; Corner President and Loveday Street
Time: 06:00am till 06:00 pm
The following roads will be closed and closely monitored from 06:30 am on Monday:
- Full closure of President Street from Harrison Street to Rissik Streets at 7:00 to 14:00;
- the immediate left hand lane in Harrison Street from Pritchard to Market Street;
- full closure of Loveday Street from Pritchard to President should be closed from 7:00 to 14: 00;
- the immediate left hand lane in Harrison Street from President to Market Street;
- the immediate left lane in Rissik Street from Market to President Street at 7:00 and full closure at 9:00;
- full closure of immediate left lane in Market Street and full closure of Market Street at 9:00 to 9:40.
The SoPA will highlight the Provincial Government’s achievements and communicate the programme of action, as well as priorities for 2013/14. The Opening of the Legislature is an opportunity for the Premier to assess Gauteng’s situation and also outline how government can enhance their efforts to achieve a better life for all..
