Stakeholders from the criminal justice system, traditional healers and faith-based organisations are to meet in Pretoria on Monday, 22 March to discuss measures that need to be taken to deal with cases of muti killings in the country.
The Ritual Killing Indaba to be held at the Presidential Guesthouse will also receive a presentation on the outcomes of the study on cross-border trafficking of body parts between South Africa and Mozambique.
The Indaba will be addressed by the Minister for Women, Children and Persons with Disabilities, Noluthando Mayende-Sibiya, who has expressed concern about violation of human rights of women and children through killings and extraction of their body parts to make imithi.
