Residents of Zastron to interact with Free State Premier regarding service delivery matters during Operation Hlasela launch

The next phase of Operation Hlasela Campaign by the Free State provincial government will take place in the Mohokare Local Municipality in Zastron on Wednesday, 16 November 2011.

Premier Ace Magashule accompanied by Members of the Executive Council and representatives from both the local and the district municipality will visit the small town of Zastron to assess service delivery.

Xhariep District is the most impoverished municipality in the province. Most towns are characterised by a number of socio-economic challenges ranging from lack of food security, illiteracy, crime and unemployment. The provincial government, working together with the community and relevant stakeholders will look at ways and means of mitigating the effects of these socio-economic challenges.

In the quest to accelerate the delivery of services, the provincial leadership will look at the housing projects, sewerage treatment plant, roads, clinic and hospital to address blockages.

The residents of Zastron have been experiencing shortage of water in the past weeks. They also have a problem with sewer spillage from Phomolong. In direct interaction with the community, the Executive Council will address these identified problems in addition to the news ones that the community will raise in the community Imbizo.

On the other hand, the outreach programme targeting the unemployed graduates in Xhariep District will also take place at the Zastron townhall at 16h00.
