On Monday, Western Cape Education Minister Donald Grant and Head of Department Penny Vinjevold will be announcing the results of the grade 3 and 6 literacy and numeracy assessment tests. Over 247 000 grade 3, 6 and 9 learners took part in the testing in October last year.
The results are important as they reveal which schools are in need of assistance in improving their literacy and numeracy skills and what kind of remedial action is required to improve their results.
