Public Service Women Management Week

Background

The Head of department's 8-Principle Action Plan for Promoting Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality was launched in 2007, and all Government departments have been encouraged to integrate them in their department's action plan to ensure that departments achieve progress towards Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality in the workplace.

Furthermore, During the month of August the Director-Generals or HODs of all Government departments are expected to host the Public Service Women Management Week to assess progress made in implementing the principles.

The sessions are to be attended by women senior managers in all departments. The Public Service Women Management Week should be from the 27-31 August, and a report of the sessions is to be written afterwards.

Purpose

The Public Service Women Management Week must be hosted to assess progress made by Government departments in their implementation of the Head of department's 8 Principles Action Plan for Promoting Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality in the Public Service.
