North West MEC for Public Safety, Howard Yawa will be part of the government delegation scheduled to attend slain Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) leader Eugene Terre'Blanche's funeral today (Friday, 9 April 2010).
MEC Yawa has opted to miss his engagement to address the strategic planning retreat of the North West provincial Community Police Board underway at Rustenburg Kloof Conference Centre in order to attend the funeral.
Yawa says that the delegation is attending to express sympathy with the Terre'Blanche family on the loss of their loved ones. The gesture demonstrates that government is compassionate and cares for its entire people and is committed to reconciliation and nation building.
