Public Protector road show goes to Northern Cape

Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela will on Monday next have a panel discussion on the importance of implementing her remedial action with the Northern Cape local and provincial government authorities and other stakeholders as part of her national road show.

This is for the purposes of ensuring administrative justice by organs of state in respect of service failure and ensuring accountability in the exercise of state power and control over public resources.

On Tuesday, the Public Protector will engage with the general public during an outreach clinic in Pampierstad. She will be accompanied by a team of investigators from the provincial office to take complaints from communities about government services or conduct.

To date, the Public Protector has visited Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Free State, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Western Cape. The theme of the road show is the "Public Protector Dialogues with the Nation."

The first meeting will take place as follows:

Date: Monday, 5 September 2011
Time: 10h00
Venue: Northern Cape Provincial Legislature Chambers, Kimberly

The outreach clinic will be conducted as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 6 September 2011
