Public Protector Human Rights month commemoration

Public Protector Adv Thuli Madonsela will next week commemorate this year's Human Rights Month with communities of Bethlehem and surrounding areas in Free State.

Themed "Public Protector Working for Human Based Society", the event will also heighten awareness among the community about the role of the public protector and that the public protector support campaign that seeks to bolster the constitutional values of human dignity, equality and advancement of human rights and freedom.

Upon her visit, she will engage with residents of Bohlokong Township and local areas on issues of service or conduct failure from government houses or abuse of power by its officials. These include undue delays upon procession of IDs, birth certificates, social grants, RDP house, and tips off on suspected maladministration and other forms of corruption.

The public protector will be accompanied by a team of investigators to help those with complaints about government services or conduct.
