Public Protector extends services to Mthatha community

A new Public Protector office is set to open its doors to communities within the OR Tambo district in Eastern Cape as part of efforts to bring the services of the institution closer to the people.

Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela and the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Nomaindia Mfeketho will officially open the office in Mthatha. The event will also form part of Women’s Month celebrations.

The opening of the office is in line with the constitutional imperative to be accessible to all persons and communities. Currently, there is only one office based in Bhisho, servicing the entire Eastern Cape province. The new office will bring the total number of Public Protector offices across the country to 20.

The event will be held as follows:

Date: Friday, 27 August 2010
Time: 10h00
Venue: No. 6 Knorf Street, Fortgale, Mthatha (near OR Tambo District Municiaplity offices)
