Public Protector Adv Thuli Madonsela will on Friday, address students who have enrolled for a post-graduate law degree at the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights. Her address will focus on challenges faced by lawyers in the area of Human Rights and Democratisation in Contemporary Africa.
The centre brings together 30 law students from various African countries to pursue a one year Masters Degree focusing on Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa.
From the current group, four are South Africans, and will spend the first semester of the year at the centre in Pretoria before being dispatched to one of the twelve partner faculties across the continent.
The event will also be attended by among others His Excellency, Mr Harry Portab, High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago, United Nations Southern Africa Regional Representative Ms Yanine Poc, representatives of the various embassies and the UP management.
