Public hearings on the Protection of Information Bill in KwaZulu-Natal

The National Council of Provinces’ Ad Hoc Committee on the Protection of State Information Bill will take its public hearings tomorrow (16 February) to KwaZulu-Natal.

The 15-member committee has interacted with the people of the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State and Gauteng in the last three weeks. Now it will be split into three groups for the KwaZulu-Natal public hearings to be held in Vryheid, Harding and Umlazi tomorrow.

The hearings afford members of the public an opportunity to express their views on the proposed legislation. They are allowed to make oral and written submissions regarding the Bill.
