Public Hearings in Northern Cape

Following inputs from the public in eight provinces in the past five weeks, the National Council of Provinces' Ad Hoc Committee on the Protection of State Information Bill will hold public hearings in Northern Cape tomorrow, 1 March 2012.

The 15-member committee will be divided into two groups for hearings that will take place in John Taolo Gaetsewei District Municipality and the Francis Baard District Municipality.

This forms part of the NCOP's process of getting the public's input on the proposed legislation and affording citizens an opportunity to make their voices be heard about the Bill.

The public hearings have so far been held in all eight provinces and the Northern Cape is the last one.

Details for tomorrow's public hearings are as follows:

Group 1: John Taolo Gaetsewei District Municipality
Venue: Gasegonyane Town Hall (Upington)
Time: 09h00-16h00

Group 2: Francis Baard District Municipality
Venue: Galeshewe Recreation Centre (Kimberly)
Time: 09h00-16h00
