Following inputs from the public in seven provinces in the past four weeks, the National Council of Provinces’ Ad Hoc Committee on the Protection of State Information Bill will hold public hearings in Mpumalanga tomorrow, 23 February.
The 15-member committee will be divided into two groups for hearings that will take place in Ehlanzeni District Municipality and the Gert Sibande District Municipality.
This forms part of the NCOP’s process of getting the public’s input on the proposed legislation and affording citizens an opportunity to make their voices be heard about the Bill.
The public hearings have so far been held in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and North West.
