The department will be holding the Provincial Urban Renewal project and Integrated Sustainable Rural Development programme Inter-departmental Task Team workshop as follows:
Date: 17 to 18 February 2010
Venue: Chris Hani district municipality, Chris Hani Council Chamber, Bells Road, Queenstown.
The department had documented lessons learnt during the implementation of the Provincial Urban Renewal project and Integrated Sustainable Rural Development programme, which will be part of close-out report for Integrated Sustainable Rural Development programme as the programme has reach its ten year term.
This will assist to inform the implementation of rural development initiatives in the province. The theme of the session is: ‘Promotion of partnerships to Enhance and Stimulate Local Economic Development in Case of Chris Hani DM’.
The following are the objectives of the upcoming Inter-departmental task team workshop:
* to share information on economic development initiatives
* to promote integrated planning, implementation and monitoring of LED amongst stakeholder and partners
* to consolidate lessons learnt on the implementation of the Provincial Urban Renewal project and Integrated Sustainable Rural Development programme
