Director-General (DG) of Home Affairs Mkuseli Apleni will on Friday, 8 October 2010 visit departmental offices currently processing applications from Zimbabwean nationals to regularise their stay in the country.
As part of additional interventions to ensure the efficient processing of applications from Zimbabwean nationals, the department’s Market Street offices will also be opened tomorrow to assist Zimbabwean nationals and alleviate the pressure currently experienced at the Harrison Street offices.
In addition to visiting the Pretoria TIRRO offices and the Home Affairs offices in Harrison Street, Johannesburg, the DG will chair the Documentation of Zimbabweans Project (DZP) Stakeholders Forum which has met regularly since the beginning of the programme and includes the following civil society formations representing Zimbabweans communities living in South Africa:
