President Zuma to visit the Eastern Cape to monitor the state of education

President Jacob Zuma will on Tuesday, 7 June, kick-start his programme of Presidential Monitoring Site Visits by visiting a number of schools in the area of Amathole District and Buffalo Metro in Eastern Cape. The objective of the visit is to assess the general state of education in the Eastern Cape province and to monitor implementation of the plans to address the challenges.

During the visit the President, Ministers and MECs will interact with all key role players in the education sector including teachers and principals, learners and parents, and the school governing bodies.

President Zuma will be accompanied by 10 Ministers including Basic Education Minister Angie Motshega, Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation Minister Collins Chabane and the Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet.
