President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 6 December 2011, participate in some of the side events at the COP17/CMP7 UN Climate Change Conference in Durban. The President will address the third Nobel Laureate Symposium on Global Sustainability on the sidelines of the COP17.
The symposium will be attended by the United Nations Secretary General, HE Ban Ki Moon and Heads of State invited by President Zuma. Other dignitaries will include Ministers, Nobel Laureates, Senior Representatives from Science and Business. The symposium aims to reinforce its commitment to global sustainability.
President Zuma will also deliver a keynote address at the Ceremonial Opening of the High-Level segment for COP17/CMP7, and finally attend the Launch of the Momentum for Change programme. The Momentum for Change Initiative is a platform that seeks to enhance the visibility of actions benefiting communities, while at the same time encouraging resilience to and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
