President Jacob Zuma to undertake a three nation tour

President Jacob Zuma is to depart on 23 January 2012 afternoon, for the State of Qatar to strengthen political and economic relations between the two countries as well as promote peace and security in Africa.

President Zuma is scheduled to hold talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani on 24 January.

In addition to bilateral issues, the two leaders are also expected to share views on the security situation in the Middle East and North Africa, especially Libya.

At the conclusion of the meetings, the President will depart for Davos, Switzerland to attend the annual World Economic Forum meeting.

From Davos, on 27 January, he will leave for Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to attend the 18th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly. The theme for the African Union Summit this year is “Boosting Intra-African Trade”.
