President Jacob Zuma to meet with top management

President Jacob Zuma will meet with Director-Generals and Deputy Director-Generals from national and provincial departments to discuss his vision of changing the way government works.

The president will be accompanied by Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe, Minister Collins Chabane, Minister Sicelo Shiceka, Minister Richard Baloyi and Deputy Minister Nhlanhla Nene.

The president will ask the top managers to tell him what they are doing to change the way they run government departments in line with the State of the Nation Address directives to ensure faster delivery.

The meeting, which will take place on Friday, 23 April at Esselen Park in Kempton Park, arises from the President's drive to improve service delivery through making public servants do things differently to deliver services faster and in a caring manner.

The president saw a need to engage with the Director-Generals and Deputy Director-Generals directly so that they can get the message from him directly on what he wants changed in the way they work.

President Zuma's term of office will be underlined by this drive to change the public service machinery.
