President Jacob Zuma will on Tuesday, 23 February 2010 deliver the keynote address at the opening of the national House of Traditional Leaders in Parliament.
The national House of Traditional Leaders was established to promote the rights of those communities living under traditional law and custom.
The national House of Traditional Leaders also carries out an advisory role to government on the role of traditional leaders and on customary law. It may also conduct its own investigations and advise the president on request.
There are currently six provincial Houses of Traditional Leaders in Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West.
