President Jacob Zuma will on Sunday, 30 August 2009, deliver a keynote address at the official Switch-On Ceremony (Government Electrification Programme) at Mushiyani village in Limpopo province.
The event is organised by the Department of Energy as part of its roll-out of the electrification programme to communities. Mushiyani electrification project has been completed with an additional 14 connections which brings the total number of connected households to 417.
Government seeks to use this event to communicate its plans around infrastructure roll-out, and provide feedback to the communities, on progress made with the roll-out of electrification to households.
The President will be accompanied by Minister of Energy, Dipuo Peters, the Premier of Limpopo, Cassel Mathale including senior government officials.
