President Jacob Zuma will pay tribute to the military veterans at the event to mark the celebration of the National Day of Reconciliation at Freedom Park, on 16 December 2009.
The event, which will be celebrated under the theme, "Celebrating unity in diversity: paying tribute to the veterans", will also conclude the cleansing, healing, return of spirits, rituals and ceremonies related to Balobedu, Batlokwa, Abanguni, Bakgalagadi, Vhangona, Khoi and San. Through this the Freedom Park will acknowledge these diverse communities for the role that they played and continue to play in the attainment of democracy, reconciliation and nation building.
