President Jacob Zuma addresses Moses Kotane’s reburial service, 14 Mar

President Jacob Zuma will on Saturday, 14 March 2015, deliver an oration at the reburial service of the struggle stalwart Mr Moses Kotane in Pella Sports Grounds, Pella in the North West province. 

The mortal remains of Mr Kotane and his fellow national liberation hero, Mr John Beaver (JB) Marks were returned back in South Africa on Sunday, 1 March 2014 from Moscow, in the Russian Federation following a repatriation process which was facilitated by the President during his working visit in Russia last year.

Mr Kotane, the former General Secretary of the SACP and the Treasurer General of the ANC died of stroke in 1978 and Mr Marks, former Chairperson of the South African Communist Party and the Treasurer-General of the African National Congress died in 1972 from a fatal heart attack. They were both buried in Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
