President Jacob Zuma to address Intelligence Services Day

President Jacob Zuma will address the Intelligence Services Day tomorrow, Thursday, 3 December 2009, at Musanda, the headquarters of the State Security Agency in Pretoria East.

The event is held annually to pay tribute to members of the civilian intelligence community. The President and the Minister of State Security Dr Siyabonga Cwele will confer awards ranging from long-service, loyalty, distinguished service and leadership to deserving members.

President Zuma will lay a wreath at the Memorial Wall and plant a tree in the Garden of Remembrance in honour of members who have died while in service. The President will also unveil a plaque naming the road leading to the State Security headquarters as Joe Nhlanhla Way. Thereafter President Zuma will address members of the intelligence community.

Media representatives are invited to attend the wreath laying ceremony, tree planting and unveiling of Joe Nhlanhla Way. You will also be able to view the Presidential Address at a separate venue at Musanda.
