The Gauteng MEC for Finance, Mr Mandla Nkomfe, will present the 2011/12 Gauteng Provincial Budget to the Legislature on Tuesday, 1 March 2011.
The budget will provide a detailed breakdown of how the Gauteng Provincial Government will use available resources to fund key priorities in the 2011/12 fiscal year. Central to the budget will be investments channelled towards stimulating economic growth and job creation, infrastructure development and maintenance, and the promotion of fiscal discipline.
Journalists will be given early access to documents in a media lock-up session under strict surveillance in order to facilitate a thorough coverage of the budget.

Time: 08h00 to 10h00 (media lock-up session and press briefing)
10h00 to 12h00 (Presentation of the budget to the Legislature)
