Today, Monday, 23 July 2012, Premier Helen Zille will present the Western Cape Government's response to the Auditor-General's 2010/11 Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) General Report.
In particular, Premier Zille will highlight the interventions that have been introduced by the Western Cape government to assist municipalities in the province to improve their audit outcomes and address challenges that are obstructing the achievement of clean audits, which the Auditor-General has raised.
Premier Zille will be joined by Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Alan Winde, and MEC of Local Government and Environmental Affairs, Anton Bredell.
Officials from the Auditor-General's office will also be present at the media briefing.
