Premier Mathabatha to address inaugural meeting of the Premier’s Employment Growth Advisory Council
Limpopo Premier, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will deliver his first opening address during the inaugural meeting of the Premier’s Employment Growth Advisory Council (PEGAC) since the 6th Administration. This comes after the five year term of office for members of PEGAC has lapsed in which they served from 2014 until 2019. PEGAC meetings are held twice in a financial year in line with the planning cycle of government.
This session will amongst others be used to table the closing report from the previous term (2014-2019); outline Terms of Reference and Technical Working Groups 2019-2024; and the Director-General, Mr Nape Nchabeleng will also outline Limpopo Provincial Priorities for 2020-2025.
Members of PEGAC are appointed for a five years term to advise the Premier on the implementations of Limpopo Development Plan. The team consists of members from the private sector, civil society and institution of higher learning. PEGAC has six Technical Working Groups (TWGs) that are co-chaired by chairpersons of EXCO Clusters and a member from PEGAC.

The functions of the Advisory Council, as highlighted in the revised 2019-2024 terms of reference are to:
- Advise on the implementation of the key pillars of the Limpopo Development Plan;
- Identify and advise Provincial Government on innovation solution to job creation and economic growth;
- Facilitate partnerships between organs of state, civil society, non-governmental organisation, academic institutions and the private sector that will advance the objectives of council;
- Advise Provincial Government on Industrial and Enterprise development;
- Assist Government in taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital industrial revolution;
- Assist Provincial Government to leverage on the Province’s strategic pillars to grow the economy and create jobs and
- Mobilize private and public sector capital funding for new development projects.
