Theme: “Diabetes education and prevention”
Slogan: “Act on Diabetes, now”
Why: The purpose for the celebration of the World Diabetes Day commemoration is to:
- Create awareness on the existence of the Diabetes both in the elderly and the youth
- Change the way diabetes is perceived
- Educate communities on how to take care of themselves and to prevent complications.
How:
The aim of the event is to change how diabetes is perceived and managed.
On the planned day, the “Changing Diabetes Bus” from Novo Nordisk will be there to provide a service to the people suffering from diabetes and also to diagnose people suffering from diabetes.
HCT testing will also be done during the day.
The day will start with a Health Walk through Zamdela from the Moses Kotane Stadium.
