Premier Panyaza Lesufi undertakes visit to explosion site in Boksburg
Premier Panyaza Lesufi will today, Saturday, 24 December 2022, visit the explosion site where a truck carrying gas caught fire and exploded near the Tambo Memorial Hospital earlier this morning.
The explosion resulted in 10 fatalities, injuring approximately 50 people.
Premier Lesufi will be joined by Department of Cooperative Governance (CoGTA), Transport and Logistics and Infrastructure Development MEC’s Mzi Khumalo, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela and Lebogang Maile, respectively.
Gauteng Emergency Services (EMS), ambulances, response and rescue vehicles and a disaster bus have been dispatched to the site.
