Premier Mokonyane welcomes CAF delegation attending the Africa Women's Championship

With three days to go before kick-off of the premier African women football tournament, Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane will on Saturday, 31 October 2010, host a gala dinner to welcome the Confederation of African Football (CAF) delegation and provide a message of support to SAFA before the African Womens Championship.

The tournament, which starts on Sunday, 1 November, will feature eight teams, including Banyana Banyana, who will play their games at the Sinaba and Makhulong stadiums.

The two teams reaching the finals in this tournament will go on to represent Africa in the 2011 Womens World Cup in Germany. This means the tournament victors will carry Africa’s hopes and dreams – starting here in Gauteng.
